Summit Design & Engineering Services

Summit provided a Geotechnical Engineer of Record for the NCSU Plant Sciences Building and will also be providing a Special Inspector of Record as well. The new facility will be roughly 200,000 SF and will include research labs, office space, corporate lab/office suites, hearth/atrium space, support space, and shared, flexible conferencing space. This is one of 40 SECU locations that Summit is providing a services for, which include Architecture, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering, Land Development, Construction Materials Testing, and Contract Administration.

We started out as a surveying and civil engineering firm, but we have expanded our expertise to broaden the services we can provide to clients. Summit now has 13 departments providing every service from initial planning and funding assistance to maintenance management of existing facilities along with anything else you could possibly need in between. Our construction management team has over 20 years of experience providing representation and leadership for all types of projects: vertical, horizontal, residential and commercial. Our priority for construction management is working closely with your project members to ensure that project work meets your timelines, budget, and satisfaction.

Our qualified staff of over 200 CEI technicians provides inspection services for ITS and traffic signal systems, grading, erosion control, drainage, paving and structures. When it comes to CEI, we don't just have teams working on your projects; we have teams dedicated to your projects. Many of our CEI managers, engineers and technicians served with their respective Departments of Transportation prior to coming to Summit, and they bring their engrained expertise of state-regulated construction standards with them.

Our seasoned team of professional engineers, geologists and drillers will start off your project strong by exploring the grounds of your site. Summit's geotechnical leaders will talk with you to assemble the team most fitting for your needs. We are unique in our ability to reach and assess almost any site in person, and our dedicated teams have diverse experience from performing thousands of evaluations throughout the state. We own and operate multiple drill rigs and soil testing laboratories strategically placed to have access to any client.
