As an environmentally conscious company, "green" building is important to us. We approach projects with sustainability in mind with alternate methods and systems to care for the surrounding communities. Examples of this are developing waste management, indoor air quality, and recycling plans; offering recommendations for low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) products; and identifying local purchasing. Our project managers, estimators, and superintendents have the expertise to provide recommendations during design and see them through construction.

HSC Builders and Construction Managers was founded in 1988 as Health Sciences Construction Group specializing in construction management services to healthcare, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical clients. The company was founded by Jay Heim, a former pharmaceutical corporate engineer. He observed that owners relied on construction managers to execute their large capital projects. But Jay knew that the same high level of expertise was also needed for smaller endeavors, too. Therefore, he started his company to fulfill the niche of those overlooked smaller projects.

We believe that the success of a project is directly tied to a team approach in which all partners are valued. The team encompasses not only the owner and the construction manager, but also the architects, engineers, owner's representative, subcontractors, and local jurisdictions.
