Safe and efficient demolition requires specialized equipment and unique skills and experience. Shaw Brothers is fully equipped with a fleet of late-model hammers, pulverizers, grapples, shears, loaders, and dump trucks to take down almost any structure quickly and with minimal impact to the surrounding environment. We've taken down any kind of structure you can imagine - and we're especially adept at managing waterfront demolition - including ferry terminals, mill buildings, and dams. What's more, we have the means to recycle a wide variety of demolition debris at our DEP-approved recycling facilities or onsite with our portable crushers.

We continually look for innovative methods to increase our recycling efficiency and capacity. In addition to onsite recycling capabilities of our portable crushers, four of our pits are DEP approved to accept bituminous pavement and concrete demolition materials. These materials are processed (crushed) and sold as recycled aggregate products that are incorporated into a variety of construction projects. Shaw Brothers is also approved to accept stumps and wood debris at two of our pits, where we grind and recycle them into DEP-approved erosion-control material to be used on project sites and sold to customers.

Shaw Brothers has completed railway construction projects for Pan-Am Railways, St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad, the Amtrak Downeaster and, most recently, the MaineDOT Railroad Division, maintaining and upgrading Maine's aging railroad infrastructure. We apply specialty equipment such as our rail-kit-equipped excavator and a 60-foot long-reach excavator to work efficiently in remote sections of the rail system.

Shaw Brothers has completed hundreds of construction projects for small towns, big cities, private companies, general contractors, public utilities, and the Maine DOT, earning a solid reputation for executing consistently high-quality projects on time and within budget. We have 10 project supervisors who average over 20 years each of dedicated experience with Shaw Brothers.
