Aggregates are everywhere. In the forms of crushed stone, sand and gravel, aggregates make up the foundation of our society: from driveways to highways, houses to hospitals, parking lots to airports, ditches to river embankments. They make up the very infrastructure that shelters, transports, and feeds us. As our population grows steadily, the need for aggregate resources remains critical. Aggregate producers and managers belonging to the NY Construction Materials Association are primarily concerned with maintaining a competitive supply of high quality aggregate for public and private use in New York's towns and cities.
A free, simplified pavement design tool for flexible and rigid pavements using AASHTO 93/98. The APA offers two versions of its software for the design and analysis of Perpetual Pavements. Both versions of the software are available as free downloads. PerRoad is uses the mechanistic-empirical design philosophy. The program couples layered elastic analysis with a statistical analysis procedure (Monte Carlo simulation) to estimate stresses and strains within a pavement. Version 4.3 provides design results as percentile responses and as conventional designs with transfer functions.
