When we perform Construction Management at Risk services, we collaborate with the owner and the design team to develop the project, typically beginning at the concept stage. While the architectural team is doing their work, we work right alongside to determine what is in and out of budget, reducing uncertainty for the client.

Harvey has decades of experience operating as a General Contractor and in lump-sum bidding situations. On these types of projects, we are engaged after the pre-construction phase is complete and a full set of plans has been developed. Using the plans developed by the architect and engineers, we can develop a bid that outlines all services, costs and expenses involved in the construction project. The dynamics of the construction industry have shifted in the past 20 years. Where General Contracting used to account for a majority of industry bids, we now see more clients moving toward Construction Management.

In a design-build project, Harvey acts as a single point of contact for an owner by hiring the architects and engineers necessary to design and build the project as part of our contract. By using this delivery method, the owner doesn't need to hire, manage or coordinate a group of contractors and sub-contractors and we can work to find the best design and implementation solution possible for the project. We also ensure a cohesive flow for the project and, ultimately, take responsibility for the design and construction of the facility.
