ACHP coordinates several courses throughout the state that provide continuing education for Home Inspectors. This is a two-day, intensive workshop presenting energy-efficient building techniques for builders, designers, planners, and homeowners. It is an excellent opportunity to learn the latest construction methods related to residential energy efficiency. This course meets the State of Alaska Division of Occupational Licensing educational requirements that qualify general contractors to take the state Residential Endorsement exam.
Register for our Advanced Cold Climate Homebuilding Techniques class and receive the helpful Northern Comfort manual on a thumb drive. Alaska Craftsman Home Program developed Northern Comfort for the two-day Advanced Cold Climate Homebuilding Techniques Workshop. It is intended to provide students with techniques for building and maintaining a quality home that operates as a system with greater comfort, durability and long-term energy efficiency. This manual is currently the only building text allowed to be used as a open-book resource for the Alaska State Residential Endorsement Test for General Contractors.
Check out the ACHP Alaska calendar for courses that may meet your professional license continuing education requirements. Per the State of Alaska, Department of Commerce website: Continuing education courses or activities are not pre-approved by the board but must meet criteria set out by the State of Alaska. All activities for which PDHs are claimed must be relevant to the practice of architecture, engineering, and landscape architecture within the registrant's field of practice and may include technical, ethical or managerial content.
