Back in 1953, when a floor lamp only cost $16, Mr. John VanDrie opened a small store in the unique town of McBain, Michigan. He sold products from the furniture, appliance, electronic and floor covering industries; and worked closely with vendors such as La-Z-Boy, Bassett, Spring Air Mattresses, Hotpoint and Armstrong. In 1972, VanDrie Home Furnishings incorporated when our present owner, Gerard Winkle, joined the business. Mr. Winkle recalls the times when there were only five people on staff and you helped your customer from the time they walked through the front door until you loaded up their vehicle out the back door.
