CHP Weatherization helps low-income individuals and families reduce energy costs by improving the energy efficiency and health of their homes using the federal Weatherization Assistance Program and other funding sources. Since 1976, our weatherization team has performed energy audits and repairs to home heating and cooling systems, especially for households with elderly residents, individuals with disabilities, and families with children. Through the federally-funded Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) administered by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, CHP Weatherization reduces energy costs for families and individuals by improving the energy efficiency of their homes, while also assessing and eliminating related health and safety issues.
