The Air Conditioning Contractors of Ohio (ACCO) is a not-for-profit trade organization chartered by the State of Ohio representing over 200 members. Our Contractor members are engaged in the design, installation, service and maintenance of heating-ventilation-air conditioning-refrigeration systems. Our Associate members are representatives of suppliers, manufacturers, utilities, educational organizations and lending institutions. ACCO is governed by an elected Board of Directors which directs policies and operations of the association according to its Bylaws.
Advocacy is probably one of the most important benefits you may never even know is taking place. ACCO is constantly reviewing, attending and submitting requests, recommendations and legal opinions to ensure the most advantageous climate and policies for our members. We truly are working for you by interacting with state elected officials and government agencies almost daily as well as keeping ahead of issues that will affect. For more than 35 years, members of ACCO have worked to protect, preserve, and promote the expansive HVACR industry.
Seven contractors came together because of threats to the mechanics lien law. Mike Callahan (Columbus) agreed to chair the organization. With seed money from Cincinnati, Columbus and the now defunct Ohio Valley Sheet Metal Association, the group was able to get all the trades involved in the "battle" and ultimately the group won. A convention was held in Columbus in 1977 where officers were elected and the vision was to get contractors involved from every section of the state. Our Mission is to identify, develop, promote and provide business resources and tools that will give our members a competitive advantage in the HVACR industry.
Wishing you happiness and success in 2021!
