Exquisite mahogany coffee table. Round 36 inch diameter. I used a unique red dye for the base color with three red glaze coats and two black glaze coats in order to add a startling amount of depth and tone. I used shellac custom mixed from genuine shellac flakes. When used properly shellac offers a far superior finish to conventional lacquers/urethane's however it is extremely difficult to use and has not been used in production since the early nineteen hundreds making this table a very unique piece.
