We weren't very familiar with the process but so enjoyed watching their meticulous work. The beautiful plaster walls have created a high end look and feel that is lovely and refreshing in our 50+ year old newly remodeled home. The current fashion is to lime wash or use Slurry on exterior brick or stucco. Prep work is vital to the quality of the final finish and we begin working with repair, pressure washing, sanding and resanding, followed by primer if needed and the final coats. Historically, plaster has been around for centuries. It has been a based for Italian style "Grottesca" painting as shown in Pompeii. It is a great material for warmer countries where it keeps cool. It also is a natural, sustainable material and it breathes. Lime plasters can be custom tinted but due to the lime, they will never reach very bold hues. This is where the acrylic version comes in handy. While the very polished version termed "Venetian Plaster" was a popular look, we tend to suede our plaster so that it is not so glass like.

When we repaint cabinetry, you can still use your space albeit a kitchen, utility room, bathroom or walk in closet. We mask off everything and most of the time paint the doors and drawers onsite. Depending on the desired effect as in lacquer, where we spray durable and smooth coats, sanding in between, or chalk paint where we usually roll and brush the coats followed by a wax, you can customize your colors and look. As certified color consultants, we are here to assist you with your choices and give suggestions according to the wood, character of your home and desired outcome.
Our process includes having a professional refinish or grate the floor and prep it accordingly. Once the prep work is complete, we then begin the process using floor or chalk paints depending on what final look the client is going for. Proper prep is essential to a lasting floor design. Once our work is done, then a professional will return to seal the floor. Floors generally need to be recoated every couple of years depending on the wear and tear. Some of the work we have done has included woodgrain in marquetry or parquetry design, redondo tile stenciling (many designers like this because they can choose the tile colors and make a custom design), Missoni fabric, marble (as in the Cosmateshi style of repurposed, ancient Roman marbles), carpets and floorcloths as well as wedding runners.
