Fritsch Custom Finishes was founded in 1930 by Harry F. Fritsch in Springfield, IL, and has remained in the family for four generations. Initially a home-based painting contractor, the company has expanded in size and scope of work. As trends have changed, Fritsch Custom Finishes has adapted to new techniques and styles. Our team caters to a multitude of needs: painting, wallcovering, drywall, interior plaster services, E.I.F.S and stucco. Based in Springfield, we serve residential and commercial clients throughout Illinois, including Jacksonville, Collinsville, Belleville, Edwardsville, Decatur, and Champaign.

This includes repainting offices, churches, banks, and health care facilities such as hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes. We also refinish transparent finished wood surfaces. This includes office buildings, stores, churches, factories, etc. Our schedules are flexible to accommodate the owner's needs, such as painting while they are closed. We protect surfaces with dropcloths and/or polyethylene film and provide scaffold and/or manlifts to access high, difficult areas. One of our specialties is painting metal buildings, which includes powerwashing and application of special long-lasting coatings to roofs and sidewalls.

Fritsch provides all types of plaster finishes, veneer sand finish and smooth gauging and lime finish. We also provide ornamental plaster i.e. Fritsch provides traditional stucco finishes, as well as more contemporary "exterior insulation finish systems". Fritsch most often utilizes traditional stucco on additions/remodels of older stucco residences.

Additionally, Fritsch provides textured finishes such as stomp, swirl, and blown-on ceiling textures; "orange peel" and "knock down" wall textures. Also, Fritsch repairs damaged drywall, i.e. water damaged drywall, impact damaged drywall, and drywall that is cracked and/or broken from structural movement.

Fritsch applies wallcovering of many types including "roll goods", typically and most often used in residences. These materials are normally purchased by the home owner (after we tell them how many rolls are needed) and applied by us. These rolls are most often 27 wide and sold at paint stores and through interior designers. Fritsch also sells and applies "contract wallcovering". This is 54 wide wallcovering, most often vinyl wallcovering although sometimes can be textile wallcovering, or special wood veneer.
