In most cases, this route offers a cost-savings as well as keeping perfectly good materials out of the landfill. And it takes a fraction of the time of a gut remodel! Our process is non-invasive. Most work is completed in our shop, not in your home, and the typical project can be completed within 2-6 weeks from start to finish, depending on total scope.

This year has been fantastic for the restorative painting part of our business! We have had the great fortune of undertaking restoration and decorating work on several historic homes in Lake Forest, including three Adler's, one Shaw and a marvel by Philip Lippincott Goodwin. The projects included maintenance painting, the rebuilding of rotted architectural components, cabinet finishing, faux finishing, sash restoration and a considerable amount of paint restoration. Our talented crews of skilled craftsmen met these challenges with their usual professionalism, laying the foundation for what we hope will become and/or remain cherished long term relationships.

For years, the Ragsdale family has been instrumental in the local environmental preservation and conservation movements. We believe firmly that one's business practices should reflect one's personal values. So, here at The Ragsdale Company, we pride ourselves on our environmental consciousness. By avoiding the use of oil-based paints and stains, not only do we create a healthier environment for our employees and our customers, we also reduce our demand on the non-renewable resource petroleum. In the early 2000's, we began a business relationship with a company following EPA and LEED standards that produces state of the art water-based paints and stains.

Our expertise in cabinet finishing and refinishing grew from our mastery in furniture repair, restoration and refinishing. Although our focus is not in antiques, we possess the necessary skills to repair and refinish your most loved furniture pieces, from vintage to contemporary. Our love for this work has led to relationships with prominent interior and furniture designers who turn to us as a most trusted resource for executing their vision on both existing and new pieces. We offer both on-site and off-site services, from scratch and dent repairs to complete transformations.
