Superior Metal Technologies is a full service metal finishing company, specializing in high-performance architectural coatings, including polyvinylidene fluoride PVDF (Kynar 500) liquid paint, powder coat paint, eco-friendly acid etch anodize and traditional caustic etch anodize. We've been an aluminum metal finishing leader since 1936. Superior Metal Technologies is an approved and licensed applicator for PPG, Sherwin Williams (Valspar) and Akzo Nobel, leading manufacturers of high-performance architectural paints and coatings. We offer a wide selection of paint systems, including 1-coat, 2-coat, 3-coat and 4-coat with standard, micas, metallics and bright or exotic coatings that can be used to provide varying colors, tones and textures to meet your project requirements. Our aluminum paint processes are designed to meet AAMA 2603 residential & interior, AAMA 2604 light commercial and AAMA 2605 high performance standards.

For aluminum metal finishing, the main difference between a liquid paint and powder coat paint is that a solvent is not required when working with powder coat. The coating is applied electrostatically and then cured, in an oven, to allow the coating to flow and form a "skin" on the aluminum metal. Powder coat systems, when applied properly can have the same performance benefits provided by their equivalent liquid paint counterparts. Under normal conditions, a standard 1-coat powder coat system is sufficient, but in highly corrosive applications, such as coastal regions or industrial atmospheres, a 2-coat powder coat system may be required.
