Established in 1972, ACCO Home Improvements, Inc. started as a company that built custom and speculative homes. We continued this line of work through the early 80s. At that time, we began placing an exclusive focus on remodeling services. Our company is licensed and insured for home improvements in Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania and we also carry a Maryland State Electrical License. We do both residential and light commercial projects covering all phases of construction and remodeling.

Remodeling kitchens and baths is one of our many specialties. We have over 40 years of experience in carpentry projects in addition to those mentioned in the decks section. These projects include the following: remodeling kitchens and bath, home additions, garages, and recreation rooms. Apart from exterior painting, we also do interior painting using our manufacturers' top of the line paints. We also install customer specified grade and manufacturer of choice. We currently are using McCormick Paints for most applications.

We offer labor and material siding installations for vinyl, wood (cedar lap, German, T1-11) and fiber cement. We can cover existing soffit and fascia with vinyl and aluminum or install wood. Here again we select Alside siding as our choice for premium vinyl siding which is the "Charter Oak" series. Charter Oak's unique tri-beam system gives superior rigidity at the railing hem. Also its rolled edge nail hem gives it an ability to resist shearing force of extreme winds. Charter Oak has stayed nailed in place subjected to Category 5 hurricane winds.

We have 40 years of experience working in the gutter industry installing seamless aluminum, copper, and galvanized gutters on new and old work. Seamless aluminum gutters come either 5" or 6" in various colors including matching downspouts. Sectional downspouts are either 2"x3" or 3"x4". Both gutter and downspouts are installed with hidden hangers. Seamless gutter avoids potential joint leaks in gutters due to expansion and contraction. Leaf guard has improved over the years to where we now have a year round solution product called Waterloov.

There are many vinyl window manufacturers today just as there were several years ago when many went into bankruptcy, thus negating their warranties. We chose Alside windows because of their window quality, years in business (since 1947) as a corporation, a warranty you can depend upon, and a window service department that will be there even when the contractor is no longer in business. That being said, Alside offers a huge variety of Energy Star replacement windows including bows, bays, double hung windows, casements, picture, garden & awning windows each available with different glass R-factors, double and triple pane with multiple low "E" coatings and Krypton Gas.
