Welcome to FunCycled - a kitchen cabinet painting, interior design firm, and custom repurposed furniture store at 272 River Street in Troy, NY serving upstate NY and shipping throughout the US. We're John and Sarah and this is our story. We fell in love and were married in 2003; since then we've been blessed with two amazing little gifts from God. Our not-so-little man. 11 going on 21. A girl I love to just spend the day with. She loves quality time together and makes a good time out of anything with her laughter and joyful spirit.
How was your week? I think we had the hardest quarantine week so far last week, but the warm weather and encouragement from church online over the weekend has started this week with new energy and encouragement. How's your week going? Last week, I had the chance to go photograph some of the kitchens we have been working on over the last three months. The Downtown Troy BID asked me to write an article about core values for their business development program this year so I thought I'd share it here as well. Hi Friends, How are you? I feel like every week I say I'm going to show you the completed pictures of our living room, but every week, something comes up that causes us to not quite be done. Last week, John and I celebrated 16 years of marriage and went away for a week for, I believe, the first time since our kids were born (11 years). Call me cheesy, but I love all things Anne.
This week's basement makeover has a very special place in my heart. Not only was it our first ever basement renovation, but it also has a wonderful backstory. Will and Jaimie called me in February asking me to. I've been working on this project with Noreen since. Often when we go to clients' homes to deliver furniture or when we meet new people, they will ask what our business is.
How was your week? It was a fun week for me! In addition to repurposing furniture, I had a few interior design consultations, spoke at the Clifton Park Library, and taught a class on painting furniture at the Art. Great company to work with. We had our outdated oak kitchen cabinets painted white. Everyone there was a pleasure to deal with. Good communication. Loved how it was done so quickly and we didn’t have to empty the cabinets. I can’t imagine what it would have been like to do it ourselves.

Recently, the team at FunCycled painted both my kitchen cabinets and island. Working with Sarah was a great experience, as she assisted me in selecting the perfect accent color for my island. John's craftsmanship was exceptional, as he not only painted the cabinets to perfection, but also constructed custom shelves for another area in my home. I highly recommend FunCycled and would gladly collaborate with them again!

We have used FunCycled for 5 rooms in our home over the last two years. FIVE ROOMS! We love working with Sarah and her team. Whether the rooms have been complete transformations, or they just needed Sarah's eye for new wall colors, she always makes the time to thoroughly answer our questions and make sure that we are happy with all of the choices. Sarah is also very conscious to stay within our budget. During quarantine we consulted virtually so that our latest project wasn't held up! Whether the job is big or small, I would highly recommend FunCycled to friends near and far!

Nothing like self-isolating to make me really appreciate the great work FunCycled did in my kitchen back in December. They took a light-topped farmhouse table and gave it new life (and erased years of abuse from my kids), and my cabinets got a modern makeover with Balboa Mist. Thank you for the great work! It was such a smooth process.

We recently worked with FunCycled to paint and refinish our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. WOW! They did an absolutely amazing job and the cabinets look brand new. We met with Sarah for our consult before they started the work and she was phenomenal - we had an idea of what colors we wanted, but then she also recommended paints for the walls as well. They were right on time with the project and within 2 weeks our cabinets were completely changed. So grateful for all of their work and we would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a cabinet/furniture facelift. We will look to work with them again when we have another project.
