I have been asked on occasion why I chose to start a cleaning business? Maybe it's a good outlet for my OCD. Maybe it's the pleasure I get when customers realize a cleaning service doesn't need to be a complicated thing. I recall an early memory. I think from second grade. I can still see my teacher up front by the chalkboard asking the class, "What do you do when you're angry or upset?" Several classmates raised their hands. I don't remember their answers. I raised mine. But I think it's mostly because in this day and age of big, big business, where customers are often taken for granted, I feel like I'm a missionary; and my good news is that stellar customer service doesn't need to be sacrificed to the soullessness of large profits.
