Madden Sewer and Drain was started in 1967 by Fon Madden. Over the last 50 years, the business has grown and become one of most reputable Sewer companies in the city of Chicago. We are Licensed, Insured, and Bonded in the city and most surrounding suburbs. We pride ourselves on taking on any job no matter what the difficulty. We offer the equipment, resources, and knowledge of a big company, but customers still get the one on one attention of a family business. We provide service for commercial and residential property.

We are fully licensed and equipped for all above ground and underground copper installation. A leak from your water service can cause a major problem to your home and everything in it. The water can weaken the structure of your home, warp floors and walls, ruin furniture and carpet, and the dampness can also lead to the growth of harmful mold and bacteria. Some leaks are easy to find and visible, while others are below the ground, behind walls, or travelling through the ceiling. Madden Sewer can locate and diagnose the problem in any location, as well as provide an estimate for the repair work.

Many current homeowners rely on pumps to keep their basements dry. Pumps are a vital part of drain tile systems, overhead sewers, and flood control systems. Madden Sewer offers servicing of current pumps, removal of defective pumps, and installation of new pumps and back up pumps. We also install and connect all discharge pipe from pumps to drain lines. We can install any type of pump at a homeowners request, but price can vary depending on brand and size of pump.

During the cold Chicago winter months many homeowners suffer from frozen and busted pipes. Frozen pipes can lead to back ups, loss of water, and leaks. We offer services to thaw out any frozen line, as well as repair the pipe. Madden Sewer also can winterize pipes before the freezing temperatures arrive.

Sewer camera inspections are the best way to diagnose problems in any drains line. The camera can be used to view the condition or obstructions of a drain line, as well as transmit the location of any problems. Many customers also wish to see the condition of existing drain pipes before purchasing a new property or remodeling their basements. The camera is a great tool to find out if your sewer has any issues and to help prevent future problems.

Properly working Water Heater's are a must for every homeowner. If you are running out of hot water too early, your water looks rusty, has an odor, or you hear a loud rumbling noise coming from your tank it may be time to upgrade and have a new water heater installed. Your choice on a new system should be based on the size of your building, energy needs, and the existing state of your plumbing configuration. The two major types of water heaters are tank based systems and tankless water heaters. A Tankless Water Heater means that there is no tank that stores your hot water.

We offer a range of water line services from repairing a leaky pipe to installing an entirely new water service. Installing, extending, and/or repairing gas lines are all services offered at Madden Sewer. We also detect and fix gas leaks. We offer both traditional and tankless water heater installations and repairs. Madden Sewer services, repairs, and installs all types of sinks, toilets, faucets, tubs, showers, and everything else you could imagine connecting to your plumbing. In the winter time, pipes can freeze and bust.

We offer free on-site estimates, phone estimates, and email estimates. Ask for Shaun or Kevin and they should be able to make it out on the same day to give you options and pricing on repairing any problem you may have. The most common type of work we perform is electric rodding. If water is backing up in your basement, sinks, tubs, drains, or downspouts we have specialized rods for each clog. Some sewer lines are clogged with grease, paper, or others types of sludge. If this is the case, we rod out the sewer line with our Hydro Jetter.

The easiest way to prevent future problems is to properly maintain your current drain system. The amount of maintenance needed varies from building to building. Our general suggestion for homeowners is to have their catch basin cleaned, main sewer line rodded, and main sink line rodded once a year.

If the time has come to repair or replace a fixture in your home, Madden Sewer offers a wide range of services for whatever your need. Our experts can handle installation, repair or replacement of almost any fixture including: toilets, bathtubs, showers, kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, laundry sinks and drains, spigots, and more. From repairing leaky faucets, to installing all new plumbing and fixtures in a remodel, Madden Sewer is fully licensed and equipped to handle the job.

Main Sewer Lines generally begin at the back of the house and connect in the street to the city sewer. We perform the excavation, install new piping, and backfill all jobs. If the pipe is broken under concrete, we also will pour new concrete after the repair is complete. Madden Sewer is also licensed for public way work if any pipe is broken on city property including in the side walk or street. We replace defective floor drains and also give the option of installing larger drains or moving drains to a better location.

A Flood Control System is used to prevent water from the city sewer from backing up into your basement. The system has a gate which allows water to flow from your house to the city sewer, but the gate closes if any back pressure from the city sewer flows towards your house. Water from the city sewer will never be able to pass through the gate, but you will still be able to use the water in your house as it will flow into a pump pit and be pumped on the other side of the closed gate. The gate will reopen as soon and the city sewer lowers back to its normal level.
